A most attractive bed of part-octahedral Fluorite crystals on a mixed Fluorite, Pyrite and Sphalerite thin matrix plate. From the classic Cavnic mining district in Maramure? County, Romania, the light cobalt-turquoise Fluorite crystals measure up to 2.3 cm and are translucent with frosted faces and complex growth structures across the faces. All the Fluorites show various faces of the octahedron form, but the lower parts of the crystals are embedded within the massive Fluorite matrix of the same colour. Crystallised Sphalerite and modified cubes of Pyrite fill-in any gaps between the Fluorite crystals. A Fluorite with great colour and habit from the Cavnic mines.
