Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USADelicate white Cerussite crystals and crystalline Malachite coat and pervade a cellular matrix of light tan Dolomite probably mixed with finely disseminated Cerussite from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia. Across the 7 x 3 cm display face the Cerussite forms as single, twinned and partly reticulated milky white crystals up to 1.3 cm but more typically 5 mm. These are semi-transparent to translucent with vertically straited prism faces and a glassy lustre. The Malachite forms deep green finely crystallised druses underlying the Cerussite and in the cellular cavities (mainly in the base) as delicate acicular crystals.
