Tucson, Arizona, USAQuartz from the Dal'negorsk mining region in Primorskiy Kray in the Far-Eastern Region of Russia can take on many habits. This fabulous large miniature/small cabinet is an off-matrix specimen built from intergrown translucent milky Quartz sceptres, all slightly flattened as both individual crystals and creating a flattened fan-like array of crystals. The largest crystals measure 2 to 2.5 cm tall but extend both up and down by aligned sceptre-like overgrowths. A difficult specimen to describe due to its complexity, although hopefully this, in association with the accompanying photographs, will convey a reasonable understanding of this striking Quartz specimen.
