Pyromorphite can adopt so many habits and colours. This fine specimen from Pontgibaud in the Puy-de-D'me d'partment of France has a tapering 2 to 1 cm wide by 5.5 cm long area completely coated with acidic oil-green balls of Pyromorphite crystals in tightly packed clusters, like a glossy cabbage patch. All crystals have a stunning bright lustre and contrast beautifully with the earthy orange-rust matrix.
