A choice cabinet specimen of excellently formed, intergrown cubic, mottled blackberry purple Fluorite crystals measuring to 4.7 cm, textured by stepped cubic surface patterns. Two cubic crystals are attached by a common face and have developed in parallel alignment to each other. The deep purple crystals are translucent and when back-lit, display a dappled, sinusoidal patchwork of rich deep inky purple, blackberry, dark mauve and bright electric violet. Certain faces and the underside of the specimen have bladed clusters of white Baryte crystals with minor Sphalerite. This is a museum grade specimen of Fluorite with Baryte and Sphalerite from the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District in the USA. It is a thing of great beauty and once displayed, backlit, will be breath taking.
