Tsumcorite is a rare lead arsenate and is named for the Tsumeb Corporation who operated this world famous mine. Judging by the three accompanying previous collection labels this has to be an old specimen, one label is that form the 'Collection of Carlton M. Davis' who lived from 1920 to 2006. Tsumcorite was found in all three oxidation zones at Tsumeb and although the type specimen is from the 2nd Oxidation Zone where it was first recognised, specimens were being recovered as early as the 1920's from the shallower levels. A 3.5 cm by 1.5 to 2 cm wide coverage of burnt yellow toffee to bright saffron yellow Tsumcorite occurring as micro prismatic crystals covers a greyish-black metallic matrix of likely Germanite or Tennantite. A great small miniature Tsumcorite from Tsumeb mine in Namibia.
