Mounted on a clear acrylic base, this single pink crystal of Elbaite Tourmaline stands 3.9 cm tall and varies throughout between crazed translucent clouds and glassy, reasonably gemmy zones. The crystal has a classic curved-triangular cross-section and a simple flat pinacoid termination. Although pink to reddish-pink throughout, the colour does vary through shades of coral to a pink-tinged colourless gemmy zone close to the apex and ends with an intense hot-pink termination. It appears there may be one repaired break in the crystal, just below mid-way. The pocket, like most Tourmaline pockets, was tectonically damaged and so repairs are necessary. A beautifully coloured Elbaite from Coronel Murta in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
