The Alpine cleft-type deposit of the Tormiq valley in the Haramosh Mountains of Pakistan has become famous for its many forms and varied colours of Titanite. This specimen has about seven lime green Titanite crystals spread across a bed of glassy white 'Adularia' crystals, a variety of Orthoclase feldspar. Six of the Titanite crystals have developed to only 6 mm high, but the prime crystal measures 5.0 x 2.3 x 0.8 cm, has a perfect termination and grows at a angle to the matrix. It is principally lime green but varies in shade from milky-lime to an orange-tinged clove brown. The underlying matrix is a very dark bluish-green metamorphic rock, composed of strongly foliated acicular crystals. A showy specimen of Titanite from the Skardu District of Pakistan.
