Hydrocerussite
Hydrocerussite, a basic lead carbonate, forms a thin, yet continuous, surface coating over a splendid cluster of colourless, semi-transparent Cerussite crystals from the famous Tsumeb mine. Although not complete in its symmetry, the radiating Cerussite crystals form a stellate cyclic twin, often called a sixling, but in this case, with only two sets of complete twins. The specimen is thick and chunky and the Cerussite crystals range between 2 and 2.5 cm in length, 1.6 cm wide and approximately 2.5 cm thick with no damage. The snow-white Hydrocerussite forms a perfect, uninterrupted film with a subtle satin lustre. Very large miniature, to small cabinet in size. Ex Toni collection.
