Elbaite with Quartz Tourmaline

A beautiful miniature leaf green Elbaite Tourmaline from the world-famous Pederneira mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Measuring 3.5 cm tall, the gemmy narrow crystal is attached to a colourless transparent terminated Quartz crystal, itself neatly glued to a small acrylic base. The Elbaite prism is tall and slender with vertically striated faces and a trigonal pyramidal termination. The colour and habit of this Tourmaline crystal are characteristic for Pederneira, so making this a great example representing this iconic Tourmaline mine.
