Description
A remarkably rich cabinet specimen of Azurite from Špania Dolina in Slovakia. Inky to lapis blue Azurite forms as a botryoidal coating over a thin seam of Malachite, this covering a ferruginous Quartz-country rock matrix. Very limited areas of the specimen have a later deposition of bright emerald green Malachite. Stood vertically the specimen has a spear-like profile and hillocky surface. The specimen comes with a previous Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. (CSSR) label. A rich and fine coloured Azurite with minor Malachite from Špania Dolina.
