Tucson, Arizona, USADelicate snow-white sprays of the rare lead-aluminium carbonate Dundasite richly pervade the small vugs and cervices between a crystalline Azurite and Cerussite matrix. Dundasite is relatively rare at Tsumeb and although primarily attributed to the second oxidation zone, is now considered more likely to be from the first oxidation zone, especially when closely associated with Azurite. Although much of the Azurite in this specimen is granular, there are also many nicely crystallised areas together with Cerussite forming sub-3 mm single and reticulated crystals plus rare Malachite. The Dundasite occurs as fine acicular crystals which form rich dense clumps throughout this excellent specimen. What would most naturally be the specimen's base contains perhaps some of the best Dundasite clusters!
