This gorgeous thumbnail of intense lilac Fluorite is from the Berbes mining area, a locality on the north coast of Spain and close to Ribadesella. Gemmy, purple-lilac colour-zoned cubic crystals to about 1 cm on edge are preferentially coated with piles of micro-granular creamy Quartz-Baryte with a fine caster sugar-like texture. The contrast between the cream coating and lilac Fluorite is stunning. The specimen is mounted on a small clear acrylic base.
