Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USAA most attractive small miniature of rounded, rich green crystalline Malachite displaying a fine radial structure perched at the end of a cream matrix of small Dolomite crystals. This specimen is from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. Carbonate minerals dominate at Tsumeb because of the karstic environment in which the ore pipe formed. The Malachite forms a roughly 3.5 x 1.5 x 1.0 cm elongated dome of dark emerald green with a micro-terminated surface of deep bottle green. The specimen would look good stood vertically with the Malachite forming a horizontal cap across the top.
