Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USAA rich and unusually coloured Pyromorphite from the mines at Roughton Gill in the Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria. This heavy specimen has a brecciated and recemented Quartz core over which a thick crust of mustard-yellow to orange-yellow Pyromorphite crystals have developed. The colour is reminiscent of specimens from Susanna mine at Leadhills. The hexagonal crystals have parallel prism faces and are developed to between 6 and 8 mm. A choice Pyromorphite that will stand out from others from Roughton Gill.
