A gorgeous specimen of bubble gum pink Rhodochrosite in the form of partly merged spheres, each to around 1.2 to 1.4 cm in diameter, coating a small plate of mixed sulphides and a black mica like mineral. From the MMM mine at Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia, the micro-terminations of the Rhodochrosite crystals form an undulating surface to the spheres, with an overall silky texture and lustre. An excellent example of Rhodochrosite form the Broken Hill mining district.
