Calcite with Boulangerite inclusions
Unknown Owner
From the old Herja Mine at Baia Mare, Maramure? County, Romania, a perfectly crystallised floater of coal-black Calcite, so coloured by finely disseminated micro-inclusions of Boulangerite. The Calcite forms superb flying-saucer-shaped flattened rhombohedrons with Mercedes-Benz triangular symmetry and patterns on opposites sides, all with a brilliant yet slightly waxy lustre. A fabulous example of this well-known form of Boulangerite included Calcite.
