Tourmaline (Elbaite) with Albite$9,500.00

An excellent tri-coloured, lustrous crystal of Elbaite tourmaline measuring to 5.5 cm tall displaying finely striated prism faces and flat pinacoid termination, with platy crystals of white Albite at the base of the crystal. The Elbaite prism is dark inky blue, graduating towards a gemmy cornflower blue beneath the termination, with a fabulous mauve zone at the termination. A superb Elbaite from Kala in the Dara-i-Pech Pegmatite Field in Konar Province, Afghanistan, The crystal is mounted vertically on a clear acrylic base. Please note: Dara-e-Pech used to be spelt Dara-i-Pech, as on the accompanying label.
