Pyromorphite
Zingy lime green crystals of Pyromorphite form two rich bands across a block of foliated milky Quartz from Wheal Alfred, east of Hayle in south-west Cornwall. Wheal Alfred is probably the most famous locality in Cornwall for Pyromorphite, a mineral surprisingly scarce give the county's rich mineral diversity. This small cabinet specimen is typical of the colour, habit and matrix association of Pyromorphite from this most famous mine and comes with an unprovenanced handwritten label.
