A stunning ex-matrix interpenetrant twinned pair of pale sky-blue Fluorite crystals, displaying flattened, complex forms of the cubo-octahedron and made even more impressive by their large size. This specimen is from the granite pegmatite located on Davib Ost Farm 61, near to Karibib in the Erongo Region of Namibia. The crystals are transparent, if a little cloudy and exhibit a hexagonal symmetry with an internal repeated stellate geometry, further highlighted by dark lilac near-surface colouration of the fluorite. The primary crystal measures approximately 6.7 x 5.5 x 2.8 cm. The bevelled prism faces are frosted yet reasonably transparent whereas the flattened, hexagonal pinacoids are pitted through natural etching and subsequently recrystallised with sub-mm glassy white Fluorite. A superb and complex Fluorite of delightful colour from the famed Erongo Region of Namibia.
