An excellent, large, well-formed doubly-terminated crystal of Anatase takes pride of place on a thin bed of Quartz from Valdres Slate Quarry, Norway. The main Anatase crystal measures 1.5 cm in length and is extremely well formed, displaying a bipyramidal form with truncated terminations. The lustre is very bright and although appearing black, the crystal shows brown internal reflections. Several much smaller Anatase crystals occur in association. This locality is not the famous Hardangervidda West occurrence in Vestland, Norway, but a lesser known locality over 120 miles away.
