An old-time classic Malachite pervaded with delicate glassy Cerussite crystals makes for a magnificent large-size cabinet specimen from the MMM mine at Broken Hill in Australia. The gossany, vuggy and openly porous nature of the Malachite indicates it originates from the outcrop or near-surface levels of the Broken Hill orebody. The Malachite forms a sponge-like yet solid mass of drusy velvet-like florets which vary from light peppermint to deep sage green. Within the vuggy structure nestle translucent grey to creamy Cerussite platelets and V-twinned crystals. A superb Malachite from the much sought after and classic Broken Hills mines.
