Sparkling orange-red crystals of Hematite-included Quartz, known as Eisenkiesel, are aesthetically presented on the inner, bowl-shaped, surface of a layer of fibrous botryoidal Hematite from the Cleator Moor iron mining area in west Cumbria. I have seen many Eisenkiesel specimens from the west Cumbrian iron mines, but none more beautiful than this. A very attractive large display specimen of a Cumbrian classic with real 'wow' factor. A fine example of how beautiful the mineral world can be.
