Stephanite
Lustrous flattened orthorhombic crystals of the rare sulphosalt Stephanite form flying saucer-shaped hexagonal crystals up to 8 mm diameter all over this excellent small miniature. From the very grandly named Churprinz Friedrich August Erbstolln mine at Gro'schirma in Saxony, Germany, this ex-matrix specimen is pervaded with smaller tabular and platy Stephanite crystals which infill between the larger crystals. The Stephanite is dark gunmetal-grey with a slight bluish cast. A superb example of Stephanite with a Lawrence H. Conklin (New York) label.
