Quartz var. Amethyst with Rhodochrosite

A rare specimen from the North Mine, Broken Hill, Australia. Crystals of lustrous Amethystine Quartz measuring to 1.4cm tall occupying most of the central area of the specimen, and have excellent terminations. Areas of pastel pink crystallized Rhodochrosite are seen at the edges of the specimen. Dark green rosette clusters of a Chlorite are associated with the Amethyst on a white matrix. A very pleasing specimen from the mine.
