A classic west Cumbrian specimen of well-developed Quartz crystals to 2 cm, substantially included by brick-red-brown finely disseminated Hematite. The specimen has a later coating of white, somewhat rounded Calcite crystals which surround and partly coat some of the Quartz crystals. These cover a platy druse of black lustrous Specular Hematite on a red-brown Hematite matrix. A gorgeous specimen from Haile Moor mine close to the town of Egremont in West Cumbria, England.
