Baryte with Chalcopyrite
A somewhat unusual combination of creamy-grey blades of opaque to semi-translucent Baryte densely coating a sturdy matrix of brecciated Chalcopyrite. From Mount Wellington mine, near to Truro in Cornwall, the Chalcopyrite is largely tarnished to a dull sooty black, but where exposed is bright brassy-gold with a rose to cherry-red iridescence. An interesting combination of Baryte with Chalcopyrite from Mount Wellington mine which eventually closed in 1991.\n
