Pyromorphite
A choice miniature of sour-apple-green Pyromorphite crystals forming a stacked cluster from the San Andr's mine close to the town of Villaviciosa de C'rdoba, in Andalusia, Spain. Pyromorphite at this mine can adopt this rather unusual shade of green and to one side, beneath the outer skin of the crystals, the colour changes to a very unusual milky-lime green, reminiscent of a creamy lime milkshake. The crystals are developed up to 10 x 6 mm with hopper terminations and are highly lustrous. The Pyromorphite zone within the San Andr's mine is in extremely weak ground and since these specimens were collected during the 1980s and 90s, the workings have totally collapsed. A lovely Pyromorphite from this well-known Spanish locality.
