A single, ex. matrix cubic crystal of aquamarine green Fluorite from the mines around the German village of Rottleberode, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The measurement shown accompanying this text are measured first on the cube's longest dimension and then orthogonal to this. From a display standpoint, the crystal measures 7.8 x 6.9 x 6.5 cm, the latter being at it thickest point. The Fluorite is translucent in its entirety and semi-transparent in patches and readily allows light to enter thereby giving the entire cube an internal glow. The prism's side faces are relatively smooth, while the display face in more disrupted by steps in the crystal structure. Light is also reflected form internal diagonal intersecting cleavage planes to create variation in the brightness and colour of the otherwise uniform aquamarine green crystal. A magnificent Fluorite from the Rottleberode district.
