Description
A beautiful Elbaite Tourmaline crystal in varying shades of rich cranberry-red and with a superb glassy lustre from the famed Malkhan Pegmatite Field in Chitinskaya Oblast', Transbaikalia, Russia. This broad stubby crystal has a smooth flat pinacoid termination that displays interesting concentric growth patterns seldom seen in Tourmaline. Internally, the crystal is heavily crazed, with the upper half particularly translucent through which transmitted light causes the crystal to glow, accentuated by patterns of light in the natural flaws. A choice cranberry Elbaite Tourmaline from the Malkhan Pegmatite Field, Russia.
