Specimens from Davib Ost (East) Farm 61 originate from a granite pegmatite close to Karibib in the Erongo Region of Namibia. This locality is well known for its magnificent Schorl, the iron-rich member of the Tourmaline Group. This ex-matrix specimen comprises a divergent cluster of thick and stubby lustrous coal-black Schorl crystals with an Sputnik-like appearance. Individual crystals measure on average 3 cm long and between 3 to 4 cm wide and form pitted hexagonal prisms, many with a Mercedes-style triangular termination. A superb Schorl from the Erongo Region.
