A beautifully banded silky specimen of Malachite from the old major copper mining area of Lichtenberg, Germany. The Malachite measuring to 6cm appears to have formed across the milky Quartz veinstone in drip-stone fashion. A fibrous internal structure can be seen on some edges of the Malachite. An incomplete band of red-brown Goethite underlays the Quartz matrix. A fine Malachite from the area.
