Hair-like acicular crystals of pale golden Millerite span a 1 x 1 x 0.8 mm vug in a small sucrosic Quartz matrix from Zollverein mine at Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This mine is within the Ruhr Coal Mining area; Millerite being a mineral often closely associated with coal measures. The individual crystals are typically 1 cm in length and form a rich cluster while remaining well protected within the vug.
