Pyromorphite
When you think of Coeur d'Alene District in Idaho you instantly think of Bunker Hill mine and its world-beating Pyromorphite specimens most of which were collected during the 1980s. Not only are the waxy pale lime-green stumpy curved prismatic Pyromorphite crystals seen on this piece very different to most seen from Bunker Hill mine, but the accompanying old handwritten label, simply stating Coeur d'Alene District, indicating that this is possibly not from Bunker Hill, but another of the mines in that area. The crystals here reach 5 mm in length and are stacked upon each other over Quartz-Limonite matrix. One possibility is the Little Giant mine, but more research is required to pin down this lovely early 20th century Idaho Pyro.
