A miniature, yet good size single Azurite crystal of intense opaque inky blue with surface alterations to Malachite, forming thin, film-like veneers of dusky dark leaf-green and slightly thicker patches of emerald-green. The Azurite crystal has a flat pinacoidal termination, around which are vertically descending zones of translucent Azurite which, when back -lit, become a fabulous deep electric blue. A great Azurite, displaying first stage chemical alteration to Malachite, from Tsumeb.
