Chalcostibite Sphalerite and Boulangerite
Unknown Owner
Chalcostibite is an antimony copper sulphide and richly covers this plate of nicely crystallised Quartz. From the Herja mine in the central lead-zinc mining district of Baia Mare in Maramure?, Romania, hundreds of partly tarnished, brassy-golden Chalcostibite crystals to about 5 mm richly cover the specimen. Also noted on the label is Sphalerite and Boulangerite, but these are minor and mainly masked by the Chalcostibite and Quartz. An exceedingly fine specimen of Chalcostibite.
