P?'bram has produced a myriad of wonderful Calcite habits and varieties over the centuries and this beautiful miniature Calcite flower is a delightful example. The flower-like aggregate is up to 4 cm across and displays beautifully against a lozenge-shaped Quartz matrix. The matrix is encrusted with micro-crystals of Quartz and rhombic Calcite crystals partly coated in a Chloritised, later generation of Calcite. The Calcite 'flower' has a central rhombohedral crystal around which 'petals' of highly distorted Calcite rhombs have developed. Under LWUV the Calcite fluoresces dull scarlet.
