Hematite with Rutile on Quartz
Unknown Owner
A most elegant large thumbnail/small miniature of Hematite forming a curved group of intergrown Iron Rose habit crystals shot though with golden-orange Rutile needles, all perched on the apex of a tapering Quartz crystal. This fascinating specimen is from Cavradi Gorge in the Curnera Valley, Tujetsch, Grischun, Switzerland. The Rutile forms sprays of grouped acicular crystals within the black metallic Hematite plates that form each 'rose'. A lovely specimen mounted on a square black acrylic base.
