Although Libethenite is well-known from Chile, specimens of exceptionally well-crystallized Libethenite are extremely rare indeed. This large miniature specimen is a phenomenon. Upon it extremely well-formed intergrown crystals of glossy dark olive-green Libethenite cover the entire display face of a Quartz-bearing matrix. The crystals of Libethenite reach 4 mm across and really do stand out in a unique manner compared to Libethenite from other world occurrences. From the Sierra Gorda area in Antofagasta Province, Chile this really is a very special South American Libethenite. Ex Professor Werner Paar Collection.
