Köttigite is a rare, hydrated zinc arsenate and occurs on this fine miniature as long tabular prismatic crystals of acicular habit with a mottled patchy mix of cream and bluish-grey-green. Rich rosettes of Köttigite crystals to about 1 cm in diameter coat a sandy coloured micro-porous matrix mixed with encapsulated Köttigite sprays. A 2.2 x 1.2 cm colourless translucent blade of Gypsum lies flat across the specimen with a lustre of brushed silk. An excellent example of this zinc rare arsenate from Mapimí in Mun. de Mapimí, Durango, Mexico.
