An attractive dome of slightly smoky Quartz crystals cover a solid Hematite core and with one side coated in black lustrous metallic crystals of Specularite, the platy crystallised variety of Hematite. The exact provenance is not known, but it is clearly from the West Cumberland Iron Field in Cumbria. The Quartz crystals are typically 1.5 cm across, are double terminated and lightly dusted with tiny Specularite crystals.
