A delightful Quartz crystal with an Amethyst to Smoky coloured sceptre from the well-known occurrence in the Chiredzi mining district of Masvingo Province in south-east Zimbabwe. The stem is of colourless Quartz protruding downwards from the sceptre's head by about 2 cm. The head is double terminated, with a single, large asymmetric upper termination and small multiple downward terminations around the stem, some of these grading more towards Smoky Quartz. The crystal is multi-coloured containing zones and patches of purple Amethyst and occasional transparent colourless zones. A lovely and well-priced example from Chiredzi in Zimbabwe.
