This exceedingly attractive fibrous Malachite is from 30 Level at Tsumeb mine in Namibia: a depth of approximately 900 m below surface. Glassy, dark emerald-green acicular crystals richly coat a granular textured dark grey matrix of micro-crystalline Cuprite. The Malachite forms drusy mounds which follow and mimic the contorted matrix and where space allows, forms domed mounds, the largest of which is 2 cm in diameter. An excellent Malachite from within the Second oxidation zone.
