Tucson, Arizona, USATwo of the more common minerals from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia combine here to produce a rather different and eye-catching specimen. The Smithsonite has typical, slightly curved rhombic crystals to about 8 mm on edge, but of a uniform pale peppermint green with each crystal composed of stacked micro-crystals of Smithsonite, which generate a lustrous satin sheen across the entire specimen. Perched on adjacent edges are two glassy, slightly smoky and highly lustrous Cerussite crystals to 1.3 and 0.7 cm across. An unusual Smithsonite and Cerussite that should stand out in a Tsumeb collection as somewhat different and unique.
