A beautiful and classic pink Tourmaline from the Stewart mine (Stewart Lithia Mine) near the village of Pala in San Diego County, California, USA. The single Tourmaline crystal measures to 4.1 cm tall and is capped with a flat pinacoid termination. It's colour varies from deep to pastel pink with a pink phantom visible when held to the light. This famous gem mine works a highly mineralised granitic pegmatite-aplite dyke. Although other gem minerals are found here, it is for these pinkish-red Elbaites the mine is most famous.
