Stephanite
An excellent miniature specimen of the uncommon silver sulphosalt Stephanite from the ancient mining district of Příbram in Bohemia, Czechia. The Stephanite forms an aggregate of intergrown classic pseudohexagonal crystals individually reaching 5 mm across. The specimen, which is well-crystallized throughout, has four excellent larger crystal extensions protruding from the main aggregate and is a typical deep metallic grey colour. Under magnification the crystals present an unusual skeletal, or slightly etched form to their pseudohexagonal prisms. A superb, and rare Stephanite specimen from this classic mining area.
