Pyromorphite
A pistachio-green mass of intergrown Pyromorphite (lead chlorophosphate) crystals from the Kangiara mine in King County, New South Wales, Australia; also known as Kangiara Copper mine. Located in the south east of NSW, this mine is now closed and covered over. The Pyromorphite forms slightly curved, barrel-shaped crystals with heavily striated prism faces, about half of which have a greenish-yellow surface coating, ending about 1 mm beneath the termination. The largest crystals have developed to about 1.5 cm long. An excellent Pyromorphite from this rare locality.
