Tucson, Arizona, USATsumeb mine in Namibia is well known for its excellent pseudomorphs of Malachite after bladed Azurite crystals, but often these are loose individual crystals. This cabinet-sized specimen is a large, and showy, aggregate of sharp bladed monoclinic crystals typical of Azurite, but totally replaced by green velvety Malachite. These crystals reach 4.5 cm in length and display a stunning chatoyancy in fine radial patterns brought about by the fibrous to acicular replacement by varied green Malachite. The array of sharp bladed crystals all appear to be perfect examples for the Azurite crystal form and are free from damage making this a very significant example of this iconic pseudomorph from Tsumeb mine and will compare well against any specimen of this type of pseudomorph from other world occurrences. Ex Martin Bohaty collection.
