A showy plate of very fine and undamaged Descloizite crystals with high lustre and of gemmy clove brown in transmitted light. From Berg Aukas mine in the Grootfontein District of Namibia, this is yet another example of the seemingly endless habits and associations Descloizite can take at this locality. The light grey carbonate matrix is completely coated with lozenge shaped tabular black to deep clove brown Descloizite crystals, all the larger crystals being about 0.9 x 0.8 cm. Many crystals have a preferential light coating of snow-white micro-Dolomite crystals. A stunning Descloizite from Berg Aukas.
