An aesthetic group of dark blackcurrant-purple, cubic crystals of Fluorite to 8 mm on edge, form a long, roughly triangular specimen which is preferentially dusted with bright glassy Quartz crystals each of around 1 mm diameter. This is a great miniature of Fluorite from the well known Marienschacht mine in the W'lsendorf Fluorite Mining District of Bavaria, Germany. The opaque to partly translucent Fluorite is almost black, but once well-lit, wonderful flashes of rich blackcurrant illuminate the surface. The Quartz has been deposited from one direction; hence coating the Fluorite crystal faces orientated to a common direction of fluid flow. A charming miniature Fluorite with Quartz from Bavaria.
